Have i ever said how much i hate it when they push back the publishing date of a book?...Come on some ppl depend on those books to be their salvation *looks around*.
I totally understand a few weeks. That's alright, I can deal with that, but dang it, not a year and then some. Jeez. By then i'll forget all about the book. Hmph.
Anyway, rant over, I'm just annoyed, stupid Harlequin, shifting around from Luna to Mira, dang it, but then again it'll be cheaper right?....*rolls eyes*....
So anyhow!...Finally grabbed Dark Celebration by Christine Feehan....
I've read just about every one of the Dark Series books....so I was really interested in seeing how she would go along placing EVERY single couple into the story, and also have a main story line, and if she'd have a main couple. Which she didn't, there was really no one main couple, really what she did was give you a view into the lives of each couple, and the exsistance of the Carpathians. She did introduce two new lifemate couples. One of which is the next book in the series, and another that I'm really looking forward to seeing her write, since it involves the adopted daughter of another Carpathian, and from what she showed, it going to be a doozie of a book, since the girl (Skyler), was abused and is only i believe 16, and REFUSES to accept that she's the lifemate of a carpathian, and whose lifemate (Dimitri) is series on the edge. It'll be a few years but I can wait for her to write this book. It sure to make Savannah's resistance to Gregori look like a walk in the park.
Anyway, I loved how a lighthearted backdrop to the story was Mikhail after being told by Raven that he would have to dress up as Santa, got the bright idea to pull the father-in-law card to get Gregori to be Santa, then went along to everyone's house, and told them he'd be making the order to Gregori. And as we all know, Gregori is NOT the happy, jolly smiley type, so everyone had doubts. It got even better when he did finally tell him...*lol*...with everyone who wanted a front row seat tranformed into insects at his house...Though with a while whose an illusionist, you just know that it would all work out.
And to top it all off they dropped a motherload on Mikhail by telling him they were going to have twin girls...*lol*....
On to Shard of Crimson...
Don't know if anyone read the Crimson series. Four authors..four books. Personally i wasn't satisfied iwth the ending, and wasn't happy at all. But my friend told me they'd have this book Shard of Crimson out, so I got it. Now I'm hoping it would satisfy me. So my ONE really big problem was that it didn't really end on a happy happy note, there was one couple that was just so perfect for each other but at the end of the series they were still apart with one of them engaged ot someone else. So I got Shard of Crimson, with the hope that they'd settle it, since the story did seem unresolved. So anyway, the book it a compilation of 4 short stories. Story 1 dealt with the situation that had one of the characters engaged, but AGAIN ended without them settling anything, I mean come ON!...Finish it, they've got these characters hanging in limbo. Ok one of them for sure is in limbo. The other, is resigned to his faith, I hate martyrs...But again, he's resigned but still bitching a fit, that the girl may indeed move on, which we know she's not, gosh she was about to wait just to see the girl he was bethrothed to, talk about glutton for punishment...hmph. So anyway, not finished, and i'm on story 3. So two more stories to go, and if they don't settle these two I'm going to be seriously ticked off.
